Field Termination Connectors

Modern Optical networks are growing at a swift rate, the procurement of pre-terminate doptic cables is not alway feasible. When it is neccisary to terminate an optica fibre in the field without Splicing ther are not many options available to an installer.

Pre-Polished Connectors

Pre-polished connectors offer a quick and reliable alternative to field polish connectors. With the use of a quality cleaver and adopting good installation practices installers will achieve low insertion losses and high termination yields. With no epoxy required and no manual polishing the termination time for these connectors is generally < 1 Minute.

Field Polished Connectors

Field Polished connectors offer a more durable solution for Termination in the field, but unlike Pre-polish connetcors they will require the use of Crimp tools and Adhesives. The Adhesive recommended by Opticreach is an Anearobic adhesive as it is High performance, low cost & requires no Ovens to cure. Polishing the fibre will require the technician to Hand polish the fibre to a scratch free finish. Experienced engineers can achieve very good results with hand polished connectors.
